Costs

In a world in which transport is a major part of economic activity and the movement of goods and people, professional driving skills are becoming an indispensable asset. However, getting this ability isn't cheap. You have to consider a variety of costs, including the cost for training and the exam. In the Netherlands the cost for getting Code 95 can be as high as 3000 euros. The costs of obtaining this certificate in Poland can be as low as 1500-2000 PLN.

In Europe, truck drivers must possess the Code 95 Certificate to drive trucks that weigh more than 7.5 tonnes. The certificate has to be added to a driver's license category C or C+E, and is valid for five years. It is also possible to add it to C1 or C1E licences, which allows the driver to drive lighter trailer combinations.

To get a Code 95 certificate, you must take a medical exam and take an exam called a psychotest. After the course is completed, you will be issued the plastic Code 95 certificate that can be added to your driving license. The course price includes a medical exam, PKZ service and payment for the plastic Code 95 Certificate.

The cost of a Code 95 certificate is similar to the cost of other types of driving classes. It is important to keep in mind that the course must be held at a CBR-approved school for driving. Trainers must adhere to strict CBR procedures. For instance in the event that a student is absent from a class, the trainer must report it to the CBR immediately.

After the course, the trainee must go to the Road Traffic Safety Directorate to apply for a new license. The deadline for renewing the licence is six months from the date of completion of the course. This is to ensure that the driver has the required level of knowledge and competence for driving a vehicle that is heavy. In addition the driver should be able to read speed limit and kilometer signs on the road.

Options for training

Code 95 on a driver's license indicates that you have completed the necessary training to operate trucks or buses professionally. It is a requirement you must fulfill every five years to renew your license. The regular training is 35 hours of instruction and can be completed at an instructor at a driving school or even at home (e-learning). It is possible to spread the training over a five-year time frame. Your employer may provide the course.

There are two types of training for Code 95: the long course and the short. The long course is about four weeks and ends with a governmental test. After passing the exam you will receive the card in the form of a plastic. The card must be submitted to the unifying European certificate database. The school where you attended your classes will submit it to the database. It will take 14 days to process the card.

As a trainer you must follow certain guidelines to be able give a class that meets Code 95. First you must submit a training plan to the CBR. This plan must be approved by the CBR prior to classes begin. You must also adhere to a variety of other strict procedures during the course.

If you successfully completed the training, you will be awarded a certificate of ongoing training from the CBR. Then, you can forward this to the RDW. After submitting the form successfully, you will be able to renew your license with the municipality. Exams

You must pass both the theory and practical tests in order to obtain the code 95 on your license. A digital tachograph is also required for vehicles weighing more than 3,500 kg. The tachograph tracks driving time and breaks and saves them on the tracker. The largest driving licence in Europe is the C-license. In the Netherlands, the requirement is that you pass the initial qualification for professional drivers at the Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, or CBR, in Dutch). You must also undergo a medical exam.
